This song actually makes me really really sad. It’s so hard to find American Indian culture nowadays. My family tried to visit a reservation that my family’s visited for generations to experience the culture, but it’s not been replaced by a casino. They have such amazing stories and history, it’s a shame that we’re losing it.
I’m 1/16 cherokee I’m so proud if what little blood I have!!! I live this song it is awesome!!!
Imma not full blooded indian.but im soo proud of them. I luv tha history an tha wisdom they r willing to share to tha world.thank u!!
Being part American and having a Apache Chief as my great great great father. I honestly don’t care what happened in the past, and I actually support the Europeans taking this land as their own. It’s not like the Indians were doing anything important with it besides making more huts and fighting each other.
I know you still be a idiot
Most people that say they american indian are just white people that have 1 great great great uncles moms dogs previous owners was native.
Oh please you sound like you we native american have go better treatment. please grow the fuck up and living your modern life. I maybe navajo but i don’t bitch how white people mistreat us. this is just a music video. all i hear for you Lakota people is bitch and whine a lot.

sometimes being a native american i wonder what it would be like if they would have never came over took our land killed our families and stole our way of life.
Hey mywawaweeya.its people like you is the reason my tribe(apache) hates the fact that no one understands what american indians went through.—-howling wolf—-son of yellowfeather.
well as a native american myself (lakota) i feel pretty pissed off that no one fully mentioned the suffering of my people for centuries, only that we were “pushed away” BITCH PLEASE! YOU KNOW YOU KILLED AND RAPED OUR PEOPLE.
beat it hater.
*insert rap beat
yo! yo! check it!
We americans loved to kill them red peoples and push them out of there own land
and fo centuries we just didn’t give a fuck
we took their land and women and kids
listen to the winds as we forced our religion
we made sure their wisdom never succeeded
This is an amazing song! Theres a lot of people out there that could learn from this!
Wow a rap song that’s melodic and has no curse words. Excellent.

My family never had waterfalls haha..we live in a desertish area in new mexico
My grandson shared this video with me today. He heard about it in school today. He is proud to be Native American and I am so proud of him for sharing the story of his ancestors and heritage. THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS VIDEO..it made it to a little town in Ohio.
thanks! the scenes with the totem pole were actually shot in san francisco, as we were referring to tribes of the northwest. what tribe are you from?
Hey theyre singing about us it’s all good, shoot you get up there and make a song about us then lol

Rick Mora’s Breastplate and Choker custom made by me, Dawn Barbier of Airdrie, Alberta Canada! Thank you Rick for wearing and promoting my work in this music video. I appreciate it very much! As for the music artists, great job:)
i love it
This is pretty brilliant, after the first couple of minutes I was hooked;bottom line= I like it!
there are a lot more tribes that are not federally recognized in the united states and also don’t forget the tirbes in canada that useto live in the united states
Oh yeah, maybe we did cross over by modern day Alaska but i believe we were going the other direction, lol!
Sookopi! Washtey! Great Work! Unbelievable! Entertaining and enlightening! And it seems with cultural competency and historical accuracy. Hoka hey! Call me to be in the next one!
Thank you so much! This is beautiful. I am very inner tribal,Pomo, Cherokee, Apache,Blackfoot and Cree. This made my day!!!
we did NOT come across ice thru alaska…..we ALWAYS been here

beautiful song and Rick Mora to beautiful love it
I wasn’t knowing what to expect but I was impressed
hey, what about us, caribbean west indian and south america!!!!! maya and aztec!!! please….were NATIVE AMERICAN TOO!!!
I totally agree with your last point. So the first thing you can do to make that right is to listen to the group of people that is telling you, “You’re not representing our group of people as though they are actual people”. Then after you actually listen to that group, you can consider it, before dismissing it. Thanks for understanding.
You’re the one showing a point of willful ignorance because you automatically think because people are white they’re babied and live joyous carefree lives.
I’d also like to hear how I’m being racist by saying a whole nation has fallen to greed and judging the common man like they were every person who hurt their ancestors?
Everybody is just looking for an enemy instead of getting over things that realistically don’t even affect them because it was all in the past and doing so with foul reasoning
As a Mechanical Engineer, your sentence structure sucks
dude.. you are a total DICK!!!…im the problem?. It’s a grudge against people with a color of skin?.. i was married to a black girl for 13 years and have 1 kids with her.. now im married to a white girl and have 2 kids with her.now go back to doing something Latently homosexuality you autistic chimp!!
Aw. Poor white guy. Give me a break. Thanks for demonstrating not only your racism, but your WILLFUL ignorance. Take care.
If modern Native Americans feel that two white guys rapping about their dead past somehow overshadows or contributes to an inaccurate picture of the present, then I would say that the Native American community needs to speak up. Vine Deloria and Joy Harjo provide brilliant insight into the modern Native American spirit. But a handful of authors/creatives cannot carry a whole diverse nation.
I would love to hear more voice, more words from modern Native Americans.
Right cause people are forced to live on reservations at this point in time. I’m more in support of equalism which most people should be.
Holding grudges and being racist at this point in time because of dealings with out ancestors and not the current generation of people doesn’t do anybody any good. Honestly at this point being white is a pretty negative thing, and there aren’t really priveleges. Furthering our society would require tossing all that baggage out the window.
This video is not depicting Native Americans today! It provides info about Native Americans in a historical context. And yes, history does pave a roadmap to modern Native American culture, but that is simply not the intention or point of the video. That does not make the video racist as a result.
And because you “ARE STILL HERE” that means it is not the place of these authors to do a song about you. YOU CAN DO THAT! Everyone can talk about dead people. The living can speak on their own behalf.
Oh wow. So Injuns should just shut up about getting forced to live in reservations, huh? I guess Niggers shouldn’t be so uppity about all that slave bullshit either, cuz it’s in the past, right?
Using the race card for a priviledged class is so obscenely small-minded I can’t imagine you need an explination for the problems with it. But then again, maybe you do since you’re trying it here.
i subbed thanks
You’re the problem. It’s a grudge against people with a color of skin. There are plenty of people living in this country who’s ancestors had nothing to do with the British, Europeans, and Spanish that came and took over the land.
But hey they’re all white right? So they must be evil, and it’s all their faults.
Not every white person did something against the natives of the land, the worst thing most of them did was move here from persecution in their own lands.
ill sub if u sub im friends with quintinizer
lmao.. why would you ask if i mind that they made it?.. lmao.. i really dont give a shit!! all im saying is that people have a big misconception about us by watching Hollywood movies and His-story told by you guys.. so it is cookie cutter to me and just more of the same.. but it was a nice video though.
ha ha.. thats what i was saying..
you obviously have never spent time on a real reservation “on the inside” so you are very misguided!!
your a funny guy.. why are you upset that we are doing the same thing to you guys that you guys did to us for like forever?.. now were the ones getting you drunk and taking your money!! lmao
It’s racist exactly BECAUSE it never mentions the American Indian as an actual living droup of diverse people. That is the point. According to this post, Indians are nothing more than a collection of exterior traits with no context, no understanding, no meaning.
Imagine if this same approach were geared to Black Americans. Make every mention of them 150 years old. Mention the spirituals. Mention the housing. Say little or nothing about the conflicts or the people.
NOW do you get it?
I saw another comment that says “We all don’t have totem poles …” I kind of thought that was exactly their point. We had many different tribes with many varied different customs. How so many missed that point confuses me.
So instead of complaining, I say thank you to them. And as I said before, this is well intentioned and excellently done!
What is funny to me is that people seem so focused on that this song doesn’t describe us as a people now, and even bestowing the word “racist,” which elicits so much emotion, on them for not mentioning that we are “doctors, lawyers and teachers now.” These guys write about history. That’s like if they did a song about Egypt or Greece and an Egyptian or Greek getting upset that they focused on the time of the pyramids or the Parthenon and labeling them currently as a people.
This is a well intentioned and also very well done!
This is a very effective piece in reminding whites that we have a history and that we were on these lands thriving when they arrived. This reminds whites that we should not be just lumped together as “Indians.” Rather, we, Native Americans, come from a vast array of tribes, each with our own traditions and culture. I understand that it would have been too difficult to mention all our tribes and am not offended that mine was not.
Oh those, idk there is so much of them. Sometimes I like to go to Vegas and waste all my money. LOL Plus why don’t you go to one and find out so you don’t have to ask people…. xD
And racist would be a majority community (like whites) referring to Native Americans as “savages” or silencing the Native American community (which, admittedly, has been done in the past) or destroying/re-writing the memory of their past.
It is past-tense because is it HISTORICAL in nature. The whole “well, what about us now!” cry is certainly not invalid, but that isn’t the point of the video. For those living NOW, they can represent themselves.
And I am not sure where this is racist by definition. It does not in any way infer inferiority. Every definition of racism is contingent on the inference of a superior/inferior relationship of one race to another.
I am not convinced that this video does that.
Sudden Rush does some local cultural rap also.Good to see our mainland ohana getting in the game
Sad to have Native American lineage. When you look at what 75% of the tribes are doing nowadays. My local community has had land bought up by the casinos and since they are a sovereign nation they don’t pay land tax and the roads are all crumbling with no money to pay for it.
Most are racist towards Whites, and Mexicans (which makes no sense, since all Mexicans are is Natives of southern regions). All in all the modern day “Native American is, is a money grubber who thinks everybody owes them.
Were you expecting some black guys to rap about Native Americans? Good luck finding one that’s educated enough, and gives a shit.
hows those casinos
maaaaan do you even lift?
I would love to scalp all the fucking retards that helped to make this awful piece of shit! Including the native Americans……
Why are white guys singing this? Posers
This is how rap should be used instead of promoting bad habits.
What good does rapping and singing do about it. Give them a sticker.
proud to be 1/128th native american
i really like this song i learned more about indians now
Too bad Cherokee isn’t the only tribe that was here. There were even tribes here before the Cherokee. I am a mix between two tribes and they were both here before the Cherokee. Get your shit straight before trying to speak on their behalf. Your question should be rephrased “What are you, 100% Native Indian?”
Very nice, thank you for producing this. Our younger generations need to ge expose to this.
I love this!! I give honor to all indigenous people of the US!
we only had moose and elk with mammoths and bears as rides in our day eh? XD
They didn’t have horses until europeans came. good song though
A 6 minute video absolutely does NOT have to be broad or general. This video doesn’t say anything that a grade school kid couldn’t tell you. You can tell a GOOD specific story in 6 minutes… if you have the talent and heart to do it. Also, it’s obvious that this was NOT intended as an anthropological overview. This is a project that lacks of effort and focus, thereby coming off as distasteful since it claims to be passionate about its subject while it demonstrates that it isn’t.
I made a short film of that same place. Go to my channel and take a look:)
Hey that’s Paradise Falls in Thousand Oaks! I went there recently.
what are you gay?
I don’t give a flying fuck what your ancestors did, it doesn’t tell me much about YOU!
no we still exist
thats nice, but people really dont know what the real deal is living on a reservation and the every day to day life of a real skin!! i think they would be raping a different tune!!
I love this! – It shows that America was not “discovered” it was invaded by colonialists!!!
I thought Native Americans were extinct.
IT IS ABOUT TIME OUR PPL GET SOME RECONIZATION , BEAUTIFUL!!!!
Wow maybe you should just google “When did horses come to North America” and find out just how wrong you are. Horses are a new additon to Native American culture. I am not a fan of this idea of “culturals” anyway. I believe in one culture, human and that there is just a lot of it.
These young musical warriors makeum me happy of my proud native heritage, my proud native people, and my proud native name. Chief Harold Shitonastick.
fear? just shut up…
I don’t like being called indian at all even native indian or american indian. Indians are from indian. The Columbus ass hole sailed her thought it was india, found out he was wrong and still decided to call us indians… NO I’m not a india. There’s nothing wrong with first nations but it doesn’t apply to me because it only reefers to Canadians aboriginals. I think aboriginal is fine too. That’s my personal opinion. A lot of Natives cal themselves indian.
I hate being called indian for that reason I’m not indian.
The terms used to refer to Native Americans have been controversial. According to a 1995 U.S. Census Bureau set of home interviews, most of the respondents with an expressed preference refer to themselves as American Indians (or simply Indians).
GET IT RIGHT, PEOPLE, it DOES matter.
Well, this video is literally about none of those cultures, so I’m not sure where you’re going with this.
you neglected to mention our mass genocide rape and the desecration of our land and the theft of that land. remember the alamo? remember little big horn.
@bhzhxjh q definitely is right. i seriously couldnt believe when my brother say this to me. Listen to this, i havent expect that i will get a cheque of $350 for surfing internet. i found it here >> bit.ly/Wz5RaX?=mgtwryp
and then we chopped ‘em right back down….yeah….
Fun fact: after a plague wiped out 75% of the native american population (before white settlers arrived) the enormous amount of trees that regrew without native americans cutting them down actually lowered the temperature of the entire planet by a couple of degrees.
Now I understand the inspiration for the movie, Break Back Mountain.
GZA & RZA would have been a better choice. LOL!
i like it!!!! better than bands will make her dance!!!! good job guys, it just needs something with marijuana
Where’s Pocahotas pop-popping her ass?
All of a sudden I thought of Apache-Gangster Bitch from the 90′s
both could be better, but really, its way better than what is mainstream . its wasn’t bad either .
AREA YOU SERIOUS ??? Naah, sorry you must be on CRACK :/
I understand what ur saying, but your history is much more Nobel than most…and definetly better than the “Lawyers, ranchers, and rockers ” of today… #just saying.
THE TWELVE TRIBES OF THE NATION OF YISRAYL (According to The Holy Bible, King James 1611 Edition):
1. JUDAH – The Negroes
2. BENJAMIN – West Indians
3. LEVI – Haitians
4. SIMEON – Dominicans
5. ZEBULON – Guatemala to Panama
6. EPHRAIM – Puerto Ricans
7. MANASSEH – Cubans
8. GAD – North American Indians
9. REUBEN – Seminole Indians
10. NAPHTALI – Argentina to Chile
11. ASHER – Colombia to Uruguay
12. ISSACHAR – Mexicans
one word I am not native but damn assassin creed 3 for letting me feel like one I love culture history.
Dreamcatchers and shit
I don’t know why but youtube just doesn’t seem like the best platform for this kind of thing.
i think its a little ironic that in a video supposedly celebrating Native American life before the European conquest at 1:54 they show individuals hunting buffalo on horses….which were introduced by Europeans…
This would be cool if you guys could actually rap and if you had a good beat.
I would have totally showed this to my First Nations Club back in high school. Thank you this was great work.
What kind of culture do we live in? I’m part Cherokee, Irish, German and some other european races. I sense the shame and pain of our past too well. What bothers me the most right now is not being sure if anything has changed. Seems all that has changed is we bring bigger guns along with our false hopes to cultures we don’t understand trying to change them. Everything changes though and feeling crappy about the past is useless.
Sorry but white guys just can’t rap AND represent my people..
Shout out to my brave men and women from the Apache tribe. Plus respect to all my fellow tribes.
I can’t speak for native indians but to me imo using a so called “music” style that originates from the ghetto desicrates the heritage and honor of the Native American Indian nations. I gave it a chance though. The point of the song is good, the medium and method on the other hand is horrific.
i Listen to sLug from atmosphere
It made me feel really awkward
Is that waterfall Paradise Falls?
“Old School” rap used to be like this… Very well done .
Wow…nice song-with all the history and details in it
-from the Crow Tribe
Don’t stop singing my brothers & sisters.
about time for a new video from them
As great as their intentions were towards educating people about current Native American culture, this video speaks to the stereotype of Native Americans living in TeePee’s and using Totem Poles and being uncivilized by making their own things from nature and whatnot. Although that may be the case for some tribes, it wasn’t the case for all and it’s important to remember that not all tribes were the same. When educating people, we must remember diversity among the tribes. Not all were like this.
they are awesomee peopledont liseten to their songs to learn they liseng to them because they enjoy it,while learning!(:
The impression I get is that you’re emphasizing that Native Americans had diverse, successful societies before the Europeans got here. Given that, I found the frequent inclusion of the horse, which came over with the Europeans, to be very ironic.
